How to evaluate a press release distribution service
Start with the audience you need to reach. A large distribution list alone does not show whether that audience will read or act on your announcement.
Define the deliverable
Ask which outlets, regions, formats and languages the service actually includes. Separate syndicated publication from independent editorial coverage. Record what is promised in the contract and what remains an estimate.
Inspect the report
Request a sample report. Distinguish a published URL, a potential audience estimate, a recorded visit and a business outcome. Confirm how each measure is collected before comparing providers.
Keep the evidence
Save the release version, distribution date, ordered package and report. Compare the documented result with the agreed deliverables. This guide is an editorial checklist, not a provider ranking.
